MOORE, Okla. (Feb. 15, 2023) – This month, Plaza Towers Elementary is partnering with First United Bank of Moore and Scholastic Books to host a Scholastic Book Fair with in-person readings on Feb. 6-10. This program exemplifies First United’s commitment to increasing its community engagement. It is also part of a wider goal of reaching out to schools that have historically not had full student participation in the annual book fair experience.
Plaza Towers Principal Cori Peak said, “I’m grateful that First United Bank of Moore has partnered with us to bring this unique book and in-person reading opportunity to our students. Engaged community partners can positively impact students and families and we truly appreciate this effort.”
For many students in the U.S., having a library of books at home is an integral part of creating strong daily reading habits. Outreach programs like this can support the 450 Plaza Tower students and the books that they receive can begin to build or grow their personal libraries. With the support of First United Bank of Moore, Plaza Towers students selected their new books cost-free.
